Well to awnser your question you can try a particular sealent called K&W block sealer it comes in a metal can you can find this at most auto parts stores. You have to follow the instructions to the point the process takes a few hours then you have to let the car sit with the radiator cap off and the drain open for 24 hours then refill it with water this is the best product out there I used it myself and sold to customers when I worked in the parts business and no complaints. Now if this doesnt work then well get a new seal.

To the best of my knowledge there is no "instant fix in a bottle" for a leaking water pump, you'll have to replace it.
In most cases a new water pump is pretty reasonably priced, it's the installation labor that'll kill you (especially if it's a front-wheel drive car!)
Hopefully you're at least mechanically inclined and your engine is mounted front to back vs side to side. If that's the case, it's not too bad of a job to do yourself.
Oh, I almost forgot...If the car is rear-wheel drive and has over 80,000 miles on the clock, save your self some aggravation down the road...Replace the timing chain and gears while you have the water pump off the engine.
Good luck

NO. There is no way to seal a leaking water pump shy of replacing it. Sorry, but a water pump is a moving(spinning rotor) and no sealer can stop a leak on a rotating part.

i have heard of grinding up oatmeal or rice and putting it into radiators to stop cooling system leaks but its only temporary and causes more harm than good best bet just replace the water pump besides what i just told you is what most underhanded car salesmen would do and that's just wrong

No. replace the gasket or the water pump. Don't jury rig something as important to your car engine's health as the coolant system unless you think replacing the engine is a good thing that you want to do.

Nope, pump gotta be replaced probably, while your at it, have them change the timing belt, its a cheap part, and you shouldn;t get charged any extra labor since they have to remove it to do the pump.
