Yep, I want Fred Thompson to continue the battle against terrorism. You betcha. Really though, I am a little surprised you asked, if you read Yahoo Questions and answers on a regular basis you should know the answer by now. But, lest you forget, ask again and some of us will help you out again.

. We are too far in to do an immediate pullout at this point. There definitely needs to be some kind of goal for withdrawal.

I foresee American occupation in Iraq continuing for generations regardless of what this president does or what the next one does.

Back in 1980, after Reagan defeated Jimmy Carter, the Iranians released all the hostages as soon as they could so as not to be bombed back to the stone age on January 20th after Reagan took the oath of office.

The next President needs to have that same credibility (really good poker playing on Reagan's part) - maybe the candidates could begin threatening to bomb Republican National Headquarters (even the Republican candidates) unless our troops our removed from Iraq before 1/20/09.

Yes. Unfortunately it is like building a dike against a flood. If you stop building it, the water will eventually cascade over and you will get flooded out. We are building the dike of democracy, once we stop, the Taliban, will come flooding back in, and wipe out everything that has been done, and then proceed to flood us.

No, I don't. This has gone on long enough. We are getting no where over there. We need to bring out troops home to fight off the attacks coming when there is a Democrat elected to the White House next year. As you cons so aptly put it.
