Yes, I believe you are right on everything in the list. It's sickening but true. This is why conservatives will not for Democrats in the next election.

Alright...let's see where I stand...

The acceptance of coexistence as the only alternative to nuclear war (honestly there isn't really another choice...Reagan practiced this and it worked...it worked because Reagan made the Soviet Union accept coexistence...cause if they didn't....we would nuke them and the rest of the world into oblivion...so that sword cut both ways and it worked.)

That the total disarmament of the United States would be a demonstration of moral strength (maybe the extreme whacko element thinks this...but not right thinking Liberal Democrat believes we can leave ourselves open to attack. Of course we would argue that we don't need 5 major figher systems, more Virginia Class Subs or yet another carrier...maybe spend the money on more body armor, strykers, things we really need for the troops.)

Support technical decisions of the courts by claiming violation of civil rights (you are too vague here. the 9th Circuit Court does wierd stuff...I'll agree with you there.)

Ensure all students graduate by easing the requirements (this isn't really happening..but understand the "No Child Left Behind" fosters this sort of environment as teachers find it necessary to make sure all students pass the stupid tests in order to keep their Federal Funding.)

Support a teachers union in government education (I'm no fan of Unions...Teamsters calling the house making threats...that kind of stuff...but I'll save that for another question.)

Eliminate laws governing obscenity by calling them a violation of free speech and free press (look you see how sensitive folks have become to any speech that is insulting let alone obscene...honestly --- you have said something about how political correctness from the extreme left is taking away our Freedom of Speech and yes I would agree with you on that.)

Break down standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV (again whose standards...yours...mine...the Amish...a bunch of Goths...look...the more gratiutous sex and violence in my movies...the more I like them. Why else do I have HBO!?!...the old adage applies here...don't watch...don't read it...no one is forcing anyone to consume stuff they don't like.)

Present homosexuality as "normal, natural, healthy (well I am a homophobe and thank God the constitution guarantees my rights to be one. That being said...they have every right to live as they choose. Whether or not I find it abhorrent is no one else's concern. Let them be who they are. )

Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity (again...this is right wing hyperbole. We can debate the Bible all day...except for those who believe it is the infallible word of God...because it's a circular argument...and how can you debate it...those who think that better hope they are right and not just bowing down to the word of man.)

Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of "separation of church and state. (You can pray anytime you want and as Jesus indicates in the Bible, you don't have to make a big public scene of your prayer and in fact you shouldn't. God is always listening and he probably wishes I would shut up from time to time. Look you folks who want prayer in the public schools are evangelical types who want the Lord's Prayer in school...you know and we know it. Give it a rest already.)

Support government involvement in education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc. (absolutely...you got me there...because guess what corporate America will never have our best interests at heart.)

A man and a wife are not a protected family institution (the government can't do this. This is a personal responsibility issue and conservatives ought to know this. Those of who take the vow before God to honor and cherish our spouse's have the burden of responsibility to ensure the sanctity of marriage and the traditional family. And the statistics don't paint a pretty picture. A whole lot of good Christian men and women are devaluing the sacrament of marriage and the traditional family....they need to buck up and do the right thing.)

Alright that's where this Liberal Democrat stands.
