Could that happen? She's very depressed, and loves him, but she feels she would be better to be divorced and still live with him.

Nope, he has to be served. Doing that behind his back is very shady anyways. If she loves him she should just be honest and tell him what she wants.

What real difference would that make? They might as well stayed married if there going to live together after the divorce! Weird!! Sounds like she's not really sure what she wants!! Or maybe she is planning on dating other guys and dosen't want to feel guilty by doing it if she's married! She should have a talk with him about it first because I don't think it will work the way she wants it to(by not letting him know)

First of all no this cannot be done since the husband would recieve papers relying the message that his wife has petitioned for a divorce from him. Why would someone want to do this it is pathetic. If your friend is this depressed she needs to end the marriage and leave why stay in a house with someone you have divorced.

Yeah....there's no way she can divorce him without him knowing.....

And why would she want to still live with him....but just not be married to him?

That makes no sense.

Tell her that she and her husband should consider marriage counseling..

Sounds like your friend is screwed up. She needs to see a physician that can write her a scrip for happy pills. Good Luck

He'd have to be served with papers, so he would know.
