The original arabs came from the Arabian pennisula and spread islam as they spread out. Most people who are called arabs today are not of arab ancestry but speak arabic and are muslim because of the early arab invasions of their homelands. The culture spreads from Iran across to Israel and across the whole of North Africa and down into Sudan and of course includes the Arabian penninsula.
Actual arabs are a caucasian people (though not white) that speak a semetic language.
That's the gist of what I know without looking at google or wiki etc.

I don't know much except they are majority Muslim and have many more old school beliefs when it comes to marriage etc. I also know ( without trying to sound discriminatory) that they own most of the small businesses and small stores in my neighborhood and they tend to be very good , hard working businessmen.

I've read about the arab peoples of asia minor and northern africa. They were pretty impressive people before the 7th century A.D. when they abandoned reason for Mohammed and his brand of insanity.

Majority are Muslims/Sunnis. They have Christians and Jews though. They are people like everyone else.
