I really dislike my job. I make min. wage and am overworked. Yesterday, I worked a 12 hour shift and got a 20 min break the whole time. That really against the law in the state I live in. I got out of work at 3am, and now I have to be back at 11am. I'm working the whole day, with an indefinete time I will be leaving. The place I work for lets you leave based on when it starts to slow down. So no one time. Last night, at 2am, the manager was barking orders and joking around that, "everyone has to be back in the morning, with a smile on their face."

I also have finals this week, and 2 due tomorrow. I really need to work on them. I also will not be able to see my mother at all today, and she's very disappointed. She understands I have to work, but does not like this job that I have. Thinks I'm overworked and underpaid.

I really want to call out? I'm in the process of finding another job at the moment, so I don't plan on working at this place for too long.

What should I say when I call out.

I also completely understand responsiblity and have never had a problem with a job like this before. I've been working all through college, sometimes 2 jobs at a time.

I really feel used and like a slave to this job. Am an educated person and I feel like I know and deserve better, than this job. It has nothing to do with my studies, either.

Sounds like you need to give this place the flick and let them hire some other sucker.
Once you have another job, you may be able to sue this place for illegal work practices and claim compensation. Depends on the laws in your state of course.
When you say 'call out', I presume you mean call in sick. Doesn't matter what excuse you give as long as it sounds ok.

My daughter used to work in a place like that. But she accepted the challenge and did her work with a smile in her face. At the same time she was looking for a better job very quietly. When the chance of her life came , she resigned and her supervisor cried at the farewell reunion because she lost an excellent employee. You dont have to do exactly the same . But its good idea to do the best you can because you may need a recommendation from you employer to get the new job with better conditions .

Call in sick with a stomach virus. School comes first! I hear alot of your situation from kids today and it's pathetic that employers don't give academics the priority they deserve. Also, first thing Monday morning, call your state Department of Labor and report them. If money is an issue and the reason you don't quit immediately, explain the situation to parents or another relative and see if they can help you financially until you get another job. And write a promissory note regarding payback of the money borrowed. Good luck!!!

Since you are a female, you can claim your monthly problem is upon you, and you can't work. As to the job, you are better off, waiting until you find another, before quitting. Good luck with your finals.

regrettably, artwork has substitute into for many a skill to an end, extremely than an bring about itself. extremely of incredibly living, human beings are extremely "making money". living then turns into an eventuality extremely than something to be engaged in on the 2d; and for what?- a awful paycheck to pursue some empty-headed bourgeois life variety.
