Hard to have one
Cy Young if you look at his overall record.
Sandy Koufax on a short career.
Babe Ruth if you look at an extremely short career.
Bob Gibson was exceptional. I saw him. Plus the man could hit.
This can be a debate for the ages. So many.
Today's players are gifted, but to early to put the greatest on till they retire and the experts examine all stats.

Really tough question, but my gut reaction would be Sandy Koufax (even though he didn't pitch as long as a lot of other guys) and Walter Johnson.

i could think of many but the 2 that have impressed me most in my life would be Randy Johnson and Mariano Rivera...
for dead people its probably Don Larsen or Cy Young
