what effect pedals should i get?

im a begginer and i want to buy effect pedals what pedals should i get

it's tough to say, since you're not really looking into anything too pricey.

honestly, the multieffect units are all junk until you pay over $500.

I would suggest you buy individual effect pedals from eBay and off classifieds, like Craigslist. that way, if one doesn't work well for you, you can get rid of it.

and each effect will be more controllable if it's on it's own. Boss pedals are the industry standard. MXR are great too! there are cheaper ones like Digitech, stay away from them.

and there are more expensive ones, but I've never felt the need to pay hundreds of dollars for an effect.

as for what effects you should buy, that's up to you. if your amp sucks, an overdrive or distortion pedal may be up your alley. chorus pedals always rock. and a graphic EQ pedal is always a necessity for achieving specific tones.
