I just finished read a book that mentions James Stewerts, role as a pilot in WII I know Carry Grant flew in the european war, is there a book which tells us of other Movies stars who served.

I also read the Andy Rooney went in on D-day is this the same Andy Rooney from Sixty Mineuts

I read somewhere that Charles Durning, who also served in WWII, won't do any war related movies.

Survived the bloody D-Day assault on Omaha Beach on June 6, 1944. Took him 50 years to talk about his experiences of that day.

James Arness of Gunsmke fame served in the military in WWII. He was shot in the leg and laid wounded in the mud for a couple of days I believe. This is why he walks with a slight limp on Gunsmoke. You can tell in each episode if he was in more or less pain that day by the amount of limping he does.

hi dude, i don't know of any book you can read about this but hear is a few actors who have served in wars. charles durning fought on d-day omaha beach. charles bronson was a tail gunner. paul newman was a gunner on a bomber, walter matthau seved on bomber crew and was wounded many times which is why he has that funny walk. telly savalas seved in the army in world war 2, a handgranade went off next to him, doctors told him he would never walk again. glenn ford served in the marines in world war 2 and served in the u.s navy in vietnam. lee marvin fought on siapan with the marines. dennis franz of nypd blue fame served in vietnam as did director oliver stone. micheal cain fought in korea in the brittish army. donald pleasance was a fighter pilot,was shot down in the pacific and served three years in a japanese prisoner of war camp. david niven fought in world war 2 aswell but i don't know what he did. henry fonda fought in the pacific earning himself a silver star for bravery and jason robards fought in the pacific earning himself the navy cross. eli wallach was a medic in world war 2. and last but not least audie murphy the most decorated u.s soldier ever with 21 medals, including the medal of honour and credited with having killed, captured or wounded 240 germans, he fought in sicily, italy, france and germany all between the age of 16 to 19 years old. thats all i can think of, off the top of my head. sorry to say though cary grant didn't serve in the military.
