I installed it and it wouldnt update so I uninstalled it. Now I have installed it again and it still will not update.
It says error retriving updates.

Do you have it set to update from the net and not from a folder only thing I can think of that would give you that error ... Besides not being connected to the net

Stang is right.
During the install of AVG you need to click on the "Internet" button when it asks you - where you want to update from. There is also a check box in that window that essentially says "don't ask me this again". That is the only potential glitch that I see.
Overall it is a very straight install and update process so you shouldn't be having this problem.
