I didn't like it, it's too long, the end is FAR too sentimental and cliched and the whole thing is just unbelievable - even taken from the perspective of superheroes. For instance spiderman takes a huge beating and is in serious trouble, he can't get up. Then a minute later he's up and fighting again. Take this with the deus ex machina provided by the butler makes it such a weak plot.
I think perhaps your son will like it, it seems to be a film for younger people to me. However, give me batman begins any day!

I saw the midnight showing with my girlfriend when it first opened. Neither one of us thought it was good and we both agreed that the first one is still the best release out of the 3. The special effects were cheesy and the film started to get way too predictable.
A few of my friends thought it was good but I will say they have the mindset of children so your kid may dig it but you probably won't. Check out rottentomatoes.com to clarify what critics are saying.

If you are already taking him - there is no point telling you. If the comments here make you decide NOT to take him, he will be greatly disappointed and that is not fair on him.
Let him go and watch it. It's a movie - GO! Enjoy it for what's it is - a movie. Don't expect every movie to be "PERFECT" before you buy a ticket otherwise you will never go to ANY movies.

oh, it's stupid. I think in the 80's better films were being made (from the aspect of technology and creativity being used). it's really naive and bad and cheap.
If your kid is up to 7 yo, he'll have fun, no problem, but if he's older, I think he might fall asleep. One thing is for sure: the film is child friendly, and doesn't need any parental guidance.

Your son will love it and so will you until you see the bad acting. Special effects are good. It is very sloppy too (a lot of Romance).
