Why not although she is mother of yr counter part and she carries the same respect too.

I always got my mother in law a present for mothers day because the loser ex would forget to get one . at least she always knew it was me who picked it out . she was great she stayed out of our divorce . she has since passed i went to her funeral because she was a nice and great person and she never interfered .
