Firefox would probably be a huge help. Internet Explorer is a huge resource eater, so the removal of Internet Explorer and getting of Firefox would probably help the entire computer's speed and the efficiency of the internet browser. It works on any system older than Windows 98, so you should be good. Happy surfing!

Firefox is okay, but it will not let you do certain
things Internet Explorer will.

If I change anything under the Advanced tab in
Internet Options, I go back later and reset it
to default if I get 404 or "page will not display".
Im not pushing software, but I like using the privacy
feature on Zone Alarm Pro. I clean my temp
files with ZA, and can adjust settings for my
personal preference.

The secret to getting the optimum performance
from Internet Explorer is to keep close tabs on
the Internet Options. You have to study all your
options under Security and Privacy, and notice
how to customize your browser. Also, if you
click on a webpage to get the dropdown, you
might notice Encoding. It may or may not be
important how page script is read. At
the top is Auto Select, and the computer
decides the encoding.

Check all the TLS options under the Advanced
tab back at Internet Options if pages don't
open or work properly. You probably
should read the little tip that pops up when
you mouse over each of those advanced options.

Yeah Firefox is a good program I'm not 100% sure if the new firefox 2 is compatible with ME it says that it is compatible but you can never be sure i have had a look around and can't see any complaints about compatibility. Firefox is a lot more stable then IE anyway

As mentioned Firefox should be good.
Another option may be Opera;

I tell people that I have every Windows from 3.11 to XP for working on computers, but, actually never got ME or used it. So, really can not say for sure how Firefox or Opera will work. They have both done well on the other Windows I have.

Yes! I was having problems with IE and switched to Firefox and it's so much faster with fewer errors.

most definitely.....i quit internet explorer a few years back, and never had any regrets. As for an upgrade, IE7 is even worse then IE6. A lot of people are having problems with it

Yup, Firefox is good.

If that doesn't help you could also try Opera.. which is another great free browser.
