The reason it is dark at night put simply is because the Earth has spun around and the sun is now on the other side of the earth to us therefor it is dark here and light on the other side that the sun is at.

The earth rotates on it own axis which results in day and night and revolves around the sun whihc resluts in different seasons.
When the earth rotates one half of the earth faces the sun and the other deosnt. So th half dat deosnt faces the sun gets darkness (night) and the other half tat faces the sun gets light (day). It takes 24 hrs for earth to rotate on it own axis. So we get 24 hrs a day.
The earth revolves around the sun in 365 days which makes a year

I think because The Moon take a position between the Earth and the Sun, so the Sun can not reflect light toword the Earth.
