I believe world peace is a utopian philosophy. Human beings have too many beliefs that vastly differ from one another. There will always be ignorance, fear, and prejudice among us. Because of free will to choose what one believes or represents, society will never achieve one all encompassing common belief that will lead to utopia. People can strive for world peace, yet there will always be those who won't be uprooted from the foundations of their beliefs or morals. Stubbornness, selfishness, piousness, racism, hatred, and anger are too strong an influence when one is asked to change, even for the good of mankind. Humans are like the animal kingdom, we live to survive, adopting different ways in doing so. If you put a lion with a bear to hunt for their dinner, they will go hungry, and kill each other. The bear knows only his way, the lion, his. One will not hunt like the other because it is not what they know, or how they believe the hunt should be drawn out. They will see each other as enemies. Yes, human beings can communicate and work out compromises. But have you ever met anyone who would compromise their beliefs, morals, ideals, theories, habits, lifestyles, or traditions to make someone else happy, or to live in peace with another person? Some would. But most wont. I relish the thought of world peace someday, but one cannot be merely idealistic and forfeit reality for the sake of a concept that will probably never be played out in our time.

I am 22.

World peace is the most impossible dream that could exist. Humanity psyche is made by two variables: Chaos and Order. Were it a world of Chaos, death would be a man's best friend. Were it a world of Order, slavery would be the step of control.
The world is made with variations of these laws, it doesn't matter how you look at it, people will never become superior but would rather remain the animal it had always been.
This day when the whole world will form a everlasting peace will never come and somehow I prey to God that it won't because a whole new set of problems will start and there is no other way out but through conflict.

that would mean human peace, even if there were no nations at war or religions at war or people at war there would still be some element of civil unrest in a certain percent of the worlds population would be violent, humans are a passionate animal and passions can have rash and violent consequences so what exactly do you mean world peace as in no nations at war with each other, I believe the only way that that could be achieved would be if there were but a single world government but there would still be violence and that's all war is an organized form of extreme violence and it is in our nature, however I do not think that it should be given up on as an idea it is good to strive for peace and tolerance. Peace needs no justification. War needs justification.
Why does war happen? War happens as a result
of contribution vs appetite. Contribution being what
an individual contributes to society. Appetite being
what an individual receives from society. When appetite
exceeds contribution an individual potentially creates
war. Who decides the magnitude of contributions and
appetites? The decision is subjective in a token-based
economy(paper money). The decision is much less
subjective in a barter system(real resources). Even if
an individual's appetite exceeds contribution war is
not inevitable because individuals have compassion
for individuals who are struggling through a crisis and
are in a time of need. War happens as a result of individuals
whose appetite is consistently higher than contribution
and these individuals simultaneously have no patience
to wait for a good deed(which is voluntary). The greedy
individuals with no patience decide it is more convenient
to create a war and violently take what they want than
to either earn what they deserve or have patience for
a voluntary donation. Therefore, world peace happens
as a result of the summation of mutual respect through
the practice of self-moderation.

Well, I'm all for it!
Actually I think it will be extremely difficult to achieve because we try to do it from the wrong end, don't we?
I mean, we expect countries and leaders to be fair and kind to each other when we can't even get along with our own colleagues or neighbors or family members!
The only possibly effective way to work toward world peace is to learn to respect the people that you are in contact with every day. World peace has to start with the individual.
my age... my children think I'm old; my parents think I'm young, and my husband thinks I'm just right.

World peace? Not happening, unless all of mankind perishes. There is no way world peace could be 100% achieved, regardless of the advances of technology and science. The human being never changes in his core, and see people going in different directions than he/she is as a threat.

World has been peaceful since 1945... there has been no further world war to the best of my knowledge based on what I have been told by the historians. Earlier it was thanks to USSR and USA, but of late all the credit goes to the US even though the UK keeps nodding its head for everything which helps the US lest it should feel lonely in its CRUSADE for peace.

My age? continuous peace in this world is a few years older.

When the balance of male/female is realized in our leadership, world peace will reign & common sense will be restored.

When America finally sees it's true purpose in being the light of the world in this goal, then we will all see change in process. You see, unless people of our nation can live in peace & fair prosperity here, on this little piece of soil, we have little right to incur our beingness upon any other...however, if we focus on achieving the "If all do well, all do well" ideal on homebase, then we will shine as the hub of humanity....

We are the only culmination of all life of this planet, and with such distinction, it is sooo within our realm to be an epitomy to others instead of the bully toddler which we now reflect.

I am going to be 49 yrs. young, this July...thanks for asking!
