i has a ques...if my device uses 12v 5A psu.....will putting a 15v 8A supply help? wat if i i use a 12v 10A instead? same outcome? any harm to my component? will it cause over current and burn my component? or it will act like psu unit.in pc...if i need 300w ....i can throw a 400w psu to it and no problem ...the pwb will draw it require current?

The thing you want to match is the voltage. As long as you do not have higher voltage applied you are good to go.

The current available needs to be sufficent to run the device having an 8 amp replace a 5 amp just leaves a little more available current but will not hurt your unit.

As long as the voltages on your power supply match having 400W available vs 300 is again perfectly safe.

If the connectors are same on 5A and 8A adapters there is not problem to use 8A adapter because consumption of the current for your device is defined previously and device will use amuont of current wich is enough for normal work. Best Regards and veradisca. Neven.
