Well I keep doing it because you bought and fitted a toilet seat with a lid, what is the purpose of the lid, if it is always in the up position?
With our old toilet seat, you nagged me into leaving the seat up after I had finished, and it appeared that you were as right as I thought I was leaving the seat down.
But you bought a seat with a lid, so when I finish I put down the lid, rather than put up the seat.
I can't put the seat up, and the lid down, it isn't constructed like that. So I will continue putting the lid down, rather than the seat up.
I know I have wasted my time telling you, because you are obsessed and will keep asking me 'why?'.
