Most air handlers have a static filter located at the intake end of the furnace. If your air handler stands vertically, then the filter may be at the bottom under a panel. If the unit sits horizontally, the filter will be located under the end panel where the duct comes into the air handler.

If you have a large opening inside the house with a grill over it, the filter may be just under the grill. This grill will have clips for easy access.

if you re talking about the outside unit alone, no. just hose down the unit really good once a yr getting any grass clipping or debris that forms over the winter .
