Firstly pet rabbits need more than to live in the back garden. They need shelter in a hutch at night and shade in the hot summer. (Sorry if you do but you haven't made it clear). The babies should be in a warm environment (ie. a hutch) with access to the run for exercise as a run is not ideal to keep your pets permanently. I know mum has escaped but if you find her she needs to rest with them as they will need feeding regularly but they MIGHT be alright now they are 4/5 weeks old. It is still too young to be away from their mother but with the right care there is a chance. Best thing would be to phone up your local vet as unless people on here are experts you're going to get all kinds of advice, maybe wrong too. In the worst case scenario maybe the RSPCA could have them and care for them properly. They have a 24 hour hotline and would be able to help you any time of day even for advice. Even the mum and dad need shelter in a hutch during the night with a bed of straw and the run for during the day but again need shelter from the sun/cold even if they stay in the run most of the day. I'm sorry I can't give you feeding advice but hope it goes well and look after them as best you can. And the idiot who made that first comment should be locked up.

Rabbits do have babies (litters) very quickly after the last
You must keep mum & dad apart
Don't let mum have another litter until you have homes for this litter
Make sure you can home them before you let mum have another litter
Put a bowl of food in with mum & another in with dad
The litter will feed when thay are ready let them feed from mum or mums food bowl (don't forget the water)
If the cats next door are keep away thay should be OK
Get a book about breading rabbits that will help
Don't take notice of the fool in your first reply

At about 5 weeks old they should have grown a coat and their eyes should be open and they should be starting to come out of the nest. Mum only goes in once a day and probably when no one is around. When my mother rabbit went into the nest i could hear all these noises and i didn't know what was happening but then i saw the baby upside down getting milk. When mum is not near the nest you could check on them but don't let sunlight shine into their eyes as their eyes are highly sensitive. But if you say 5 weeks then they should've opened their eyes by now. I would check in the nest incase their are some dead babies they could get maggots on them and effect the others, you could also give them straw and hay to keep them warm. Before you touch any of them give the mother a stroke to reassure her and to get her smell on your hand as she will smell you on the babies. The nest should be moving if they are alive, if it isn't you could open the nest and have a look. Last year my rabbit only had 2 babies but one was born dead. The mother had dragged the dead one out of the nest and this is normal.I could still see the nest moving so i knew it was alive. I checked the nest everyday, sometimes it wasn't moving , but then the next day it would be moving. About 5 weeks later i checked and a huge white head popped out. If the mother has abandoned the babies they may already be dead but if she's keeping an eye on the nest then they should be okay. If you check on them and they look healthy and have big bellies then it should be alright. If worse comes to the worse and she is not feeding them and they are still alive you should go to the vet and they will probably give you a syringe so that you can hand feed them milk. At about 5 to eight weeks they can be weaned but i didn't even have to try. When i gave the mother food the baby just was eating it aswell. Good luck.

Do you have your rabbits running loose in the garden or are they in a cage? You really should have them in a cage. If the rabbit is getting out of a cage, I'd consider going to a different style of latch.

At 4-5 weeks they are probably just barely at the point where they could possibly survive without mom. If they are eating rabbit pellets on their own, then they probably can.

goats milk is a brilliant substitute milkfor all mammals. warmed in a small hand-rearing bottle, u must also toilet them as they wont be able to go themselves, by using warm water and cotton wool, gently rub it over the bottom part of the rabbit to help it wee and poop, they will also need to be removed from the mother if u do this as she will kill them if ur involved, also keep them warm. good luck.
