Right now I'm liking KK cos i haven't had DD in years since there's no shop in Melbourne Australia, I've only had it in Philippines =[

Hopefully they open one so I can make a final decision.

Krispy Kreme....no need to ask any more questions

2007-05-11 22:13:16 · answer #1 · answered by Mama C 3 · 0 0

I'm torn with this one. Until years ago, I hadn't had a Krispy Kreme, but I had heard so much about them. When I saw one in New York, I decided to try one. I wasn't all that impressed, and I thought no way does it beat a Dunkin Donuts.

A few months go by, and I tell someone this, and they asked me if the "Hot and Fresh" light was on. I said no, it was a room temperature donut. They said I had to try it fresh. I thought ok, I'll give it another shot.

On my way out of town on a trip, I passed a Krispy Kreme with the hot light on. I went through the drive-through and got one. I started eating it as I pulled away, and immediately turned back into the drive-through line and got 2 more. Wow! Awesome.

Since then, I've tried Krispy Kreme NOT hot a few more times, but.....eh. So, this is the order:

1) A hot and fresh glazed Krispy Kreme glazed beats all
2) Dunkin Donuts
3) A not-hot Krispy Kreme

I just had to answer this question. I have eaten both and personally find the KK donuts to be rings of dough deep fried and then dipped hot into liquid sugar. They taste sweet , but it surely is disgusting because they are full of grease with a sugar coating. DD donuts are not at all greasy from the cooking process and they have the best fillings and toppings ever. Sorry to all you KK fans but you really have not tasted a TRULY GREAT donut until you have tried a couple of
Dunkin's...

This the third question I have answered in this category and my answer was the same to all. I live in Alaska and we don't have...... Anyway we do not have either DD or KK here. We had a DD several years ago and they were pretty good but not better than the corner bakery. I have yet to taste a KK. I hear about them so often that I would love to try them. I hear that for fund raisers for schools, etc. they do ship them boxed in quantities of 12. Of course these wouldn't be fresh but if I ever see a school team selling them, I will buy a box.

Krispy Kreme is way better, you can get the donuts right out of the oven.
