I don't know my mother In Law she died when my husband was only eight years old.
But I knew my ex husbands mother really well and couldn't stand her guts.
She was the wicked witch of the entire world.
When I left my husband it gave me great pleasure to leave without saying bye to any of his family members, especially his awful mother.
Just to give you an idea of what a bit%@ she was one day after work I was to meet my husband over at his parents house for dinner.
When I got there he walked up to the car and told me that he had accidently killed my cat.
Said he jumped down the stairs from the bedroom to the living room and landed right on her and killed her.
I was in shock because I loved my cat very much and had always told him not to jump down the stairs because my kitty liked to sleep there.
As I was walking up to his mom and dad who was sitting in the front yard my mother in law was smiling and when I got up to her she began to sing
"See the kitty laying there looking so pretty here comes Ernie down the stairs pop goes the kitty".
And she sang it again and then laughed and laughed as I stood there crying.
Wicked wench I was so glad to have extracted myself from his demented family and extremly relieved I left before I did something I'd regret for the rest of my life to his mother.

I did. I stayed in touch with her after the divorce. She was a sweet woman who deserved better treatment than she got from her children. I wish I could have taken her with me when I left.

Before you think we're both saints, she was also incredibly annoying and stubborn..and I'm sure I'm both of those too. However, she was a a good person and I loved her.

I tolerate my future MIL except when she tries to tell me how to clean MY house. She's the type of woman that leaves food out for days and still reheats it for leftover meals! As you can imagine her kitchen is a mess. Matter of fact, that's why my fiance's father left her last year, after 35 years of marriage, and filed for divorce.
