Eeeewwww, nasty, but the sandwich idea might be just a little much and it could end up making for some real ugliness among you roommates.
Have you tried just telling this person that, though it might seem squeamish to them, it really makes you uncomfortable when they do that in the common living area and request that they save their grooming for private?
You could try watching a movie that has a character with similar habits and see if your roommate gets the point.
In the movie "Notting Hill" with Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts, the Hugh Grant character's roommate does some pretty gross stuff. Maybe he'd catch on? Good luck.

Make a toenail topping pizza
and some matted wet gunjy hair
that accumalates in the plug hole
sprinkled over the top will go down
a real treat!

But i see how annoying this can be!
how can people be so bleeding selfish that they would do things like that, my Brother in Law farts where he wants which i feel is disgusting!
we are not animals that cannot hold these urges! it would be so simple to go to the toilet and relief yourself of the noxious winds blowing from your A**EHOLE instead of being a selfish F**ker, contaminating the air with your stink
thinking about it do that sandwich, I'm sure there is no need to add cheese

My son does that, and he's 6. It drives me mad. I find a little pile of toenails on the floor all the time. Save them up, and make the sandwich. Or you could save them up, and put them under their pillows
