In this proposal authored by Representative Brian Baird, which he will introduce soon, it proposes to no longer have employers pay healthcare costs, but for employers to pay into it and the individual will supply their own healthcare at a lower cost, then what is out there now for the individual. What do you think will happen with pre-existing conditions? Now when you join a company, pre-existing is accepted.

Sounds to me like the Congress is "running around the mulberry bush" again! When there is talk of a Universal Health care plan, people MUST demand from our elected leaders that insurance costs be provided by the federal government and keep the private insurance providers out of our health care! There are 50 million people in America these days without health care coverage and that is not only unacceptable, it is shameful. Our elected leaders need to fix the US tax Code and make our taxes a "flat tax" and forbid the states from exercising their own tax system. The feds also must provide every service for its citizens and states have no business in the citizens everyday lives. Until that is done, there can be no Universal Health care system in America.

Just more socialism that will once more take another freedom while defying what the people want. In essence, it is another welfare program and deprives the rest of us from living life as we choose and making our own intelligent decisions.

You can be absolutely sure that the people that put this program in place will not have the same program. There, of course, will have to be exceptions for those who make laws that affect the rest of us.

With such a plan our unemployment rate will soar. Small business owners could not possibly bear this cost. What has Baird proposed for the unemployed or the self-employed?

If we get nationalized health care ( socialized medicine in essence) then all the medical care we get now will be reduced to pretty much nothing with a long waiting list to get it. Those with money will go to a private Doctor for better care. You'll probably have Doctors leaving the profession since they will no longer make big money. What Doctors are left will be on the lower end of skill and will be swamped with work.

Anything that is socialized will just make everyone equally miserable. The poor will get nothing more but more people will also get nothing and then the poor can at least feel better about it all.

I live near the border in Michigan and thousands of Canadians cross the border every year to pay out of their own pockets for access to our health care. The reason being thaat socialized health care is simply another big-budget, wasteful program that will make health care harder for everyone toget.

Ludicrous. National Health Care has ruined the Canadian economy, province by province.
