I have the old Xbox and was wondering if the games from the old system would look better on the new? Thanks.

they look identical and in some cases actually look better on the original xbox for the exception of halo 2. halo 2 is the only game that looks better on the 360 than the original xbox mainly due to the fact that a texture pack was added to halo 2 for the 360, and you will only notice this if your are viewing it on a HD TV.

here is some advise...you neeed an xbox 360 to play 360 games, but there are a few types of 360's One doesn't have a harddrive and its the cheapest DO NOT BUY THIS ONE, he will not be able to save games and will spend alot more money in memory cards. there is the elite which has a bigger harddrive and an HD dvd player this one is also a waste of money as HD dvd players have already gone obsolete. Now the best deal is the normal xbox 360, i think its 299. and it comes with a 11 or 20 gig hard drive i cant rememebr which is big enuff for heavy video game use. If you are buying this just for fun and not a present then you may just stop my your local gamestop and ipck up a used one there usually 10 % cheaper and have been tested. unforutaly you dont get the 3 year warrenty though and the xbox 360 has been known to be a fragle system. Im already on my 3rd one b/c they keep breaking.

I would think that the answer is no. All a game is is a bunch of images put together to create an illusion. For example, take an image of a building. The image is render in various ways but it cannot be render better than it already is. It is just like if you did a hand drawing. It doesn't matter if you look at the drawing through a computer screen , a cell phone or on a piece of paper. the quality of the picture can only be so high. Meaning, the best the picture is going to look is as good as the original drawing. From there it can only get worst. I mean, it is not like if you run that same file through a state of the art graphic card your stick figure is now going to look like a Picaso master piece. It will still look like a stick figure.

The only way for the picture to look better on a new system is that the information that makes up that picture is actually better than what the old system could handle. Meaning that the old system was actually looking at a cut down version of the image not the highest quality of that image.

Also, note that you cannot create a picture for a system that does not exist. For example, the people that made atari games (think pac man) would had never imagine how games would had look like in a xbox 360 kind of way. So they made the game for the machine of its time.

Technically speaking...no. The games are emulated to run at regular XBOX graphics because they aren't coded the same as a 360 game. It's called being "backwards compatible." Regular XBOX games weren't meant to run in High Def, the new era of gaming.

Absolutely not--actually there are a lot of glitches. My boyfriend can't play Forza without the cars looking all weird and certain paint layers cannot be applied like normal. And I can't play Fable without my character's skin looking green at certain points. I've downloaded updates and everything else that Microsoft has to offer but nothing really works.

Having said all of that, I still think that 360 is a great enough console to go ahead and get anyway because of all the games that are on it and will be on it in the future. :)

Maybe a little bit if you are running component into HDTV. The screen is smaller as they were not formatted to play in HD but maybe a little clearer if for no other reason than your unit is hooked to your TV through HD component cables.

Once the game is burnt to the disc, to quality of the game cannot change...you will still have rough edges and pre-next generation quality.

well, the hi def looks more crisp for some few games, but overall, it looks the same. Sometimes the games will glitch and lag on the 360
