I honestly don't know how the people got so brainwashed, but I agree with you that they are! I guess that those with the money are so good at feeding propaganda that the majority of average people do not stand a chance! There are some of us, who do not miss, anything about the class system, and the exploitation that abounds in our society, but getting the others to wake up and open their eyes, is not all that easy! *sm*

Your initial mistake is assuming that labor -any labor- has an inherent value. This is a fallacy

Just because you dig a hole does not mean you have done anything of value. Quite the opposite: unless the hole serves a purpose, it's a waste of time.

It's knowing what the hole is needed for, determining the required location, size, and shape of the hole, that determines the hole's value.

Any idiot can dig the hole... there's 4 billion people on this planet and probably 2-3 billion of them can dig the hole...

It's the people who know how and where to put the hole that are rare, and since it is due to their knowledge that the hole has value, then of course they are the ones that deserve the greater compensation... without them the hole is worthless.

On the same line, Resources are useless unless someone knows how to turn them into something of value:

the next time you open a box of cereal: sit down and think of all the coordination of resources and labour required to make it: from manufacturing to packaging to transportation...
everything required to produce it can be reduced to a bunch of simple steps any idiot could do, but it's in the coordination of these simple steps that value is produced: that's the hard part. That's also what what capitalism is all about: making something value out of otherwise worthless stuff.

Labour is easy, cheap, and worthless without capitalism. that's why communism is pretty much dead: the communist countries turned out to be the best proof that capitalism works. Don't beleive me? Talk to someone who is from the former soviet union or warsaw pact nations and ask them about the first time they walked into a western supermarket.

You are the one that is brainwashed.

Actually, it was built with capital (with an "a", not an "o"). Amazing how a company founded this colony on credit from the British banking establishment and owed millions to the establishment. The American colony actually was a debtor colony to the British. They lent us capital and we repaid them in resources.

The wealthy get rich and stay rich because they own the capital. In order to do anything, you need capital. I mean physical and monetary capital. The workers that dig up the resources, make it, and ship it, are unskilled and mostly untrained people. There are many unskilled/untrained people, billions in fact. The people at the top are there because they have made good decisions. Most of them were not given anything, most of them worked hard for their money and their wealth. They are on top because they are trained and skilled. Without them, there would be no one organizing the capital to do the great things our society has become. Billions are easy to replace, the few on top are not. This is simple economics. Jealousy is an ugly green-eyed monster. Learn to spell.

I'm glad you are proud to be a Canadian.

I am glad I am an American. Unless either you or I are working in each others countries, then I guess the whole thing doesn't matter.

I prefer the U.S. way and you prefer the Canadian way. We're both happy.

Try showing them the truth for a change, instead of being biased, and let them decide for themselves. Quit trying to control ppl and give them the truth. There is a way.

It's a two way street. the rich give the regular people jobs and the bossman pays them and keeps a profit for himself. That way he can afford to pay more then 50% of the taxes the government gets to feed and house the ones who won't or can't work. You silly man.
