What I need to find information on is a PERSONAL EMERGENCY SYSTEM for my elderly parents, which would allow them to press a button on some sort of device worn on the body to summon help from the other person in the house, without the call-centre-alert type thing. I have been told that the device is called a PERSONAL TRIGGER, but am unable to locate any information on these anywhere on the net. Any advice would be gratefully received.

My parents live in Melbourne, Australia, so I need something relevant to that area, please.
Most importantly, I don't want a service which notifies an emergency contact centre, just something which notifies other people in the same house that the person pressing the button is in need of help.

We use a very small cell phone that is programmed to ring the house phone, and grandma and grandpa keep theirs in their pocket at all times. When grandpa fell, he reached in his pocket and pushed the call button. The phone rang and he told aunty that he fell in the kitchen. She was in the den, and was able to go help him. You do have to pay for the phone lines, but it is very useful when aunty is out at the store and can keep in constant touch with them.

I have given you a couple of links to the beeper locator devices that I found, they are not specifically for elderly, but could work for what you need.
