GEIL is one of the better RAM manufacturers. If they're new and they're not working, in all likelihood, you didn't install correctly or you don't have the right type of modules for your system.

UPDATE:
Well, in that case, if you tried 'em on 4 motherboards then they may be defective modules. It happens, even with the best of brands. Do either of the sticks work if you only load 1 in at a time?

Try 1 stick at a time on the slot closest to the processor. Make sure the stick is inserted right and both ends are locked. Go straight to BIOS first and load fail safe defaults. Save and exit to restart and let Windows load.

If they do not work, my hunch is they are not compatible with your motherboard. Those sticks could be the hi-performance versions that require higher than normal voltage and that voltage setting is beyond the upper limit supported by your motherboard, especially if it is one those proprietary boards.

Any computer, assuming that you're installing RAM of the proper speed or better... also, I think you mean 4gb of ram... 4mb would be useless
