Ok, I think I'm pretty prepared for the birth of my first child, BUT. I don't think I am prepared for the real pain of giving birth whether it be from contractions, or from pushing that precious little thing through my woohoo. On a scale of 1-10, how bad is it really? I plan on having an epidural, does it help tremendously? What exactly is it like to feel the baby coming through? Gimme some examples to prepare myself... Please? AND, how many people actually made a poop during delivery of their baby? I'm so scared that's going to happen to me...

The unknown is always scarier than the actual event. Birth feels like menstrual cramps combined with the feeling of having diarrhea and trying to hold it too long. I would rate it at about a 7. An epidural has some serious side effects and you would do well to research the decision. Women who have an epidural can have trouble pushing, the epidural can even stall labor. This causes a higher rate of C-section. The babies themselves are less alert because of the drug. You don't need drugs, but if you choose them, know the risks.
Nearly all women pass a stool during pushing, good grief, you are pushing harder than you ever have. Don't worry about it, when you are in labor, you won't care. When the baby comes, it feels a lot like the relief you get from pooping, there may sometime be a little sting when the baby's head passes out of the birth canal but you are already pushing and it doesn't matter.
The most important thing you can do is to make sure that you help. DO NOT FIGHT THE CONTRACTIONS!!! Let them wash over you like you do water in the shower or a wave in the ocean. Relax your body and just let your body do what it does. Fighting them will make them hurt and will hurt the baby. You can do this, and you will have that wonderful little peanut to hug and kiss at the end.

I delivered 2 of my three children without pain medication
and wouldn't do it any other way. My first was a planned c-section for a medical problem. Getting the needle in the back for that spinal block was awful so I decided to go without an epidural or any meds with my vaginal births and am glad I did. Anyway i don't know what labor and delivery is like with an epidural or pain meds. Pushing feels great. its not painful like people would make you beleive because you have something to do and the counter pressure feels good. Giving birth is like pooping a bowling ball and it burns down there as your skin is stretched. after the babys head is out, the shoulders are delivered, its like a water slide between your legs. You'll feel like jello for awhikle afterwards and might shake even if you aren't cold. its uncomfortable but not horrible. The pressure was intense. With my first vaginal delivery I did have a little poo come out just before crowning but i didn't know until I watched the video. its no big deal, no one cares and your too busy working to care. My midwife just tossed it in the trash. Basically anything thats in the rectum is likly to come out. you might also empty your bladder, again no biggy. I didn't pee or poo at all with my third delivery
regular active labor i'd say the pain was a 3-5, transition contractions was an 8 and pushing pain was a 2. I think you'll be suprised by the post partum contractions, no one ever warns you about those and you don't get an epidural for that. they are uncomfortable. Don't be scared you'll be just fine. good luck

I didn't poop on the table but I'll tell you the contactions felt like I had to poop really bad. When I went into labor it started around 11pm. I felt like i had to poop so bad. So I ran to the bathroom.... and nothing. after about an hour of this returning sensation it just got stronger and stronger. Then I knew I was in labor. From there they were 5 min apart . I got to the hospital at about 12:30 am. The contractions were at 1:30 unbearable! I was in so much pain. It was more so a feeling of intense pressure. I had my baby at 4am. I had a epidural but I felt like it didn't help because i felt it all still. Just expect a lot of pain but if you stay calm and don't tense up your body it will go quicker. just allow nature to take it's course.

The beginnings feel like cramps, But the actual labor is different for everyone. I'm not gonna lie. It hurts. Bad. I didn't poop though. Your body takes care of that during pre-labor if you know what I mean.

Well, if you imagine peeing out a bowling ball then that's basically what it's like. On a scale of 1-to...11. Sadly, there is nothing you can do to prepare yourself, but Good Luck! You can do it!

I had a miscarriage at somewhat over three months after which I went directly to have a little one three years later. The suffering was once an identical. The simplest change that I spotted was once that the contractions expanded in depth after which lowered, while with my miscarriage the suffering was once excessive -interval! The contractions with exertions whilst expanded in depth have been very excessive and somewhat extra excessive than the trials of a miscarriage. It was once an identical regardless that, for me besides.
