Too soon to decide on a college, it depends on what aspects of zoology end up interesting her. I know that the Moorpark College in Moorpark, CA, has a program in caring for and handling wild animals in captivity, and has its own little zoo, it that appeals to her.
She could look at local zoos and see if they have any programs for children her age; if she is mature for her age, they might accept her early. Another possibility is wildlife rehabilitation. Most places have volunteer organizations for helping injured or orphaned wild animals, and this would be great experience. Many animals can be cared for at home until they are able to be released. Song birds, raptors, reptiles, there are all kinds of experiences to be had.
