People want to know their future because they believe that they have greater things set for them. They don't want to be stuck on the present, where they believe that nothing amazing is happening to them. They dream big, and realize that someday they will be able to do something spectacular, without even realizing that they have the present, in which they don't realize that that "something big" was the future that they were dreaming about in the past. People cannot take in the mystery of things, they are also eager to unfold all the solutions the earth has to unravel.

It gives them hope. A lot of people are not satisfied with their current situation. A horoscope gives them a false glimps into the future. Notice how most horoscopes are of something good to happen. Ocasionally they fortel of some small misfortune or disagreement with a friend but is more of a be careful than an actual prediction. If you knew that something good is coming to you in the near future that gives you some hope to keep going.

I don't think I want to know my future but is just as well because who is going to tell me anyway? Besides if we did know the future we would go crazy trying to figure out what to do about it. The Bible says that today's trouble is sufficient for today.
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. Mathew 6:34

The real question should be
"Why do people believe some human beings can look at their palm and tell them their future, or can tell them their future just with their first name and DOB?"
That's the big mystery.

that is because they want to take precautions of what bad is gonna happen and take rest well in advance after knowing what good is gonna happen
and hey but for all the good that is gonna happen,that person is got to work hard unless which the good is not gonna happen

for me personally it's to get a sense of stability. (most of the time) i hate not knowing what to expect.
