I know if I had done it more when I was younger, I would have had a much better life, and I would have the confidence now to do even more things.

Yes, there have been times in the past. Then when I walked away or when I returned home I wanted to kick myself for not speaking up when I had the chance. I'd be really upset with myself wondering why I hadn't said what I had wanted to say. Or there where times where I didn't think of the right thing that I needed to say until it was too late. Very, very frustrating, either way!

I do. I have layed low before so as not to seem outspoken, conceited, or boastful and lost some very golden opportunities.
I was shy and backwards as a teen and did not get the encouragement from others that may have made my life better today.
I have felt left out and overlooked all my life until I turned 35 and joined a rock band- now I am front and center and leave a lasting impression on many people. Live and learn, Yak!

Great question. There are many things that I wish I had spoken my mind about. You are so right in that the path not taken often leads us down a lonely road.

Confidence is so important to being a successful person. The good thing is, you really can change direction if you are willing to try.

I have had to turn my own life around more than once. I'm in the process of doing it yet again!

I've never had that issue, Yak. So, no, I don't have regrets about not speaking up, everyone in my life knows where they stand with me. Tell ppl how you feel do what you want to do. Life will be better for you. Don't blame your past, you can only change the future. Start today. Be more assertive!

it's not your fault, you needed some encouragement, and you didn't receive it. Now you can be you're own best friend as an adult, and live your life Bold, with no regrets, because life is short. Stand tall, and shove it their face, make them see it you're way.

I think you do fine, my own opinion, you have a balance of speaking up, and letting it go, and you know there is a time and place for everything.

now if I could only take my own advise????
I tend to regret speaking up, I think, if ONLY I kept my mouth SHUT!!!!
