Yesterday my girlfriend ran out and said look,and twisted around in front of me...I said Hey,wow....She said what do you think of these pants ....I said they are nice I like them on you.
She then said They are size 5 ,and paused like she was waiting for an answer, What should I do how do I answer that???
Do I say , YES!!! wow that is great good for you.
Or do I scream and run out of the house and date her sister.

best bet is to play it dumb. Female sizes use a different system than male size. For example, I'm 32 x 32. What is the equivalent of this in female sized? Hell if I know nor care. I'm not in the fashion industry so, why should I care about size? This is exactly as you should play it. "She says, this is a 5" and you say "ok, but what does a 5 means?". So, she'll go about explaining what is big and what is small in female measuring system. In the end you'll say, "well, the best thing is to try it on and see how it looks then I may be able to pass judgement cause this numbering thing does not makes sence to me".
You see, you are redirecting the focus from a number to an actual look. I think the number thing is stupid. It either looks good or it doesn't. Plus, the same sized can be bigger or smaller depending on the manufacturer. For example, hispanics and blacks have for the most part bigger hips, so jeans that are meant for white girl will look horrible on that kind of body type.
By the way 5 is a really small sized. I think the average women is like a 12. Marilyn Monroe was a 12. So, next time she says, "this is a 5" say to her "A five!!!??? you need to gain some waeight girl".

Your girlfriend was looking for compliments. Has she lost weight?? Size 5 is a small size.Maybe she was proud because she has lost weight and is down to a size 5!! Girls love compliments..I was wondering why you would say should you run and date the sister!! Was the pants too tight or did they not look good?? If that was the case and if you tell her that she may get mad. But if I asked my boyfriend how I looked in a pair of pants i really do want an honest answer.. If they look bad I want to know!!

Five is usually considered a very small size for women. There are smaller sizes but not many. So she is probably proud to be in a size that small. Maybe she has recently lost weight. You as a guy are understandable not familiar with female sizes, as most girls are not familiar with male sizes.
Say, YES, great, good for you.

Well basically she wanted you to acknowledge how thin she was that she could fit into size 5 pants, but she obviously wasnt thinking that men's clothing sizes are different and they know very little about women's clothing sizes. Just let it go for now, but if it comes up again be sure to compliment her on the size.

usually when someone says that it is because they are happy that they fit in a size 5, which would be smaller than what they were wearing. Your "Yes!!! wow that is great good for you." would work fine.

Sounds like she is fishing for compliments. Why? Do you not notice or compliment her enough? Is she overly self conscious? you may not think of of that your self! in case you may not than you do in comparison to her. i admire my boyfriend because of the fact he's stunning, form, he makes me smile, and he actually saved me from residing existence in hell. it rather is my answer for him?
