I think the cat will win. More weapons and they attack the eyes.

A cat would win most the times
Cat are less changed by human selection, are nearer to the wild root, and have more agility. A cat can jump higher.
And the claws are a notorious advantage.
Wolves have more strength, resistance, and can be running more time. Wolves hunt in herd, using some communication and cooperation.
If we analyze the African savanna, most of the predators are cats: lions, cheetahs, leopards. The African Wild Dog is almost the only successful dog's specie in the savanna.
When I was a child I saw a fight: a mid size dog (50lb) lost an eye in the beginning of the fight with a typical cat (20lb)

The cat would win. Discounting the claws for a moment, the cat goes for the neck and suffocation. The dog is descended from wolves, which would hamstring a herd animal and the pack would then finish it off. The 2 different fighting style, and the addition of the claws would make the cat a favorite to win.

Cats will usually flee from a direct fight. But if the cat stays to fight (maybe protecting kittens) the cat would win. It has 4 sharp-clawed feet besides sharp teeth, and can do a tremendous amount of damage. I would much prefer to be attacked by a10-pound dog than a 10-pound cat.

The cat.
Dogs' biggest fighting advantage over cats (other than size) is their ability to cooperate. But just one dog is no match for a similar-sized cat.

It would depend on how much fighting experience the cat has. We' inherited this Himalayan that was an unaltered male that goes out of his way to pick fights with dogs. He's also has some bb's in him from dog owners who hated him messing with their dogs. He's fixed now --- after having sex with a neighbor's dog!

If it is a Jack Russell Terrier vs cat, the Jack Russell will win. They are notorious cat killers (or will seriously injure them). It happened to a neighbor of mine (so sad). Cats bite, while dogs tear/rip, which does more damage.

The cat, of course. Dogs are afraid of the cat's claws,no matter how big they are!
