Dude my mother was the abusive one and never formed a bond with her. Even after I tried to bury the hatchet as it were she managed to drive it in much deeper. Thus all she gets is a call on those two days, Mothers Day and Happy BIrthday. She dont even call me on my birthday but I at the least make a small effort.

My mum and I get on great, we are more like friends than mother and daughter. She knows I love her very much. I don't just wait til mothers day or her birthday to show her how much I love her, sometimes I buy her a gift or I do something nice for her that will show her how much I love and appreciate her and I tell her often that she is a mum in a million.

Well, actually I'm becoming closer to my mom but my father raised my brother and I and mom wasn't too much in the picture...so for me, those days were the few days I would show affection...but now that Im older and more forgiving, I try to have the relationship that we should have had many years ago.

im ashamed to say i havent seen my mother in about 2 months or more, we have different views, a bit complex but i love her more than anything in the world. Afterall when the world gives you a kick in the behind, who is there to pick up the pieces?

I used to kind of take her for granted, but lately, she's had some serious, but not life threatening health problems, but they have kind of opened my eyes a little bit.

Nope.I am not like that.I think she is the most inspiring and wonderful person I have ever met.My mom always tells me not to buy her any mothers day gift because my sister and I are the best presents she ever got.

Trust me, she knows. She is one of the greatest ma's and I don't think anyone else could have raised me and my brothers. We were quite the rebels and pains in the butt. We don't need to talk. We understand each other. I never was a mushy type. I can't stand to be touched.

I love my mother the same everyday.
No holiday or special occasion is needed.

I love my mom. I dust her off every few days...she died in 2006 and was cremated and she is always near in her urn.

Yeah, may not sound nice to you but mom always had a sense of humour. She's the one that taught me the dirty WWII songs I got in trouble for singing at school.

We're "conflict habituated"; that is, we can't stop arguing. Even if I don't respond to her constant barbs, she won't quit nagging 'til I blow up! So we avoid each other after it feels like things are getting "dicey" and on the phone, make up lame excuses (Oh! I have a "call-waiting beep! gotta go!") to disconnect. It's sad, really.
