I have an ofoto account, and found that someone was looking through my sons first birthday photos that were taken a year ago a few days ago.
The entry is a fake email address that doesn't even work. I just emailed Ofoto.
I don't like the idea of someone looking at our family photos with a fake email address.
Is there a way to track down this person???
Thanks in advance.

As unhelpful as it sounds, no, it is not possible to 'track' this person down, unless this person is careless and leaves some of his personal information behind somewhere and you happen to find it.

People can make hundreds fake email addresses within seconds.

The short answer: for you, no.

The longer answer: If they have kept logs then they should be able to find the internet address, and given that, the FBI and others can trace it back to an ISP (with the appropriate court orders). If they get the records from the ISP, they can find who was connected at that address at that time, again another address, but this one would include the mac address, unique to each piece of hardware, and through a vendor they might be able to find the person if the person has registered their PC for support, etc..

The chances of this happening are problably next to nill. There are so many incidents like this everyday it would be impossible to track them all.

It might be a bit premature to assume that because this person uses a fake email that they have some bad intentions looking at photos of your family.

Sure it's possible, but many many people use fake emails, not because they're criminals but they don't want to be contacted or leave their email.

It's not what i'd do personally, and it's good to be cautious, but unless you go to lengths to protect online materials with passwords or some authorization, there's not much you can do unfortunately.

id say ur pretty safe. but make sure u didnt put ur real last name in!!! you dont have to put one at all. you do when u register, but then u can go bak in and delete ur last name. even when u register u dont have to put a real last name anyway. also, i wouldnt put ur real age on there. make up a year, even if u wanna keep the same month and day. like mine is july 14th, 1920somthing. lol. also, id make ur site private if ur rly worried about it. shoot me an email if u wanna kno how to do any of this (but i think u already do) i hope i helped! ♥
