I posted before about how to get some of the above compounds. My husband has a prescription for hydrocodone that he didn't fill. I'm in dental school though and don't want to jeopardize my future. Can surprise drug tests run by the university detect these? and is it common for universities to run such tests on professional school students? I can't get my own prescription but I want to see if I have an adverse reaction to the drugs. Suggestions?

Yes, the can detect those medications quit simply. I have never heard of schools doing drug test, so I can not help you there. Also, levels, or amounts, can be detected and distinguished. The drug would only stay in your system for s few days anyhow, so if you drink lots of water, it will flush out. However, I would not recommend that you even try them, they most likely will not hurt you beyond an upset stomach, but they are powerful drugs and are addicting.
If you do try it, and end being tested, you can always say that you took one of your husband's because you had a bad migraine.

Most traditional Drug test test for the NIDA-5

1. Cannabinoids (marijuana, hashish)
2. Cocaine (cocaine, benzoylecognine, cocaethylene)
3. Amphetamines (amphetamine, methamphetamine)
4. Opiates (heroin, opium, codeine, morphine)
5. Phencyclidine (PCP)

However, the university / employer can ask that additional test be done, if they feel that someone is abusing a drug that isn't tested by the NIDA-5 test.

I dont understand why you'd want to take hyrdocodone (Vicodin). Vicodin is a commonly prescribed drug, but it contains the properties of test barbituates.

If you are allergic to normal codeine (which is also given) , then you'd be allergic to Vicodin.

Your doctor would be the best person to consult on this. Not you tryiing a drug just to see if you have a reaction to it. And there are other "medicines" that can be prescribed than Vicodin to handle any pain you are going through that aren't codeine based.

I have never had any school test me. Is that a policy where you go? If this is a public school, I see that as violating your 4th ammendment protection against unlawful search and seizure. They would need a "legitimate, special needs" pupose and i don't see it. Private schools would be different, but there would still have to be a policy in effect...
