Loneliness doesn't always have to do with being alone. It's possible to feel lonely in a room filled with people, if you can't connect with any of them.

Because a person needs meaningful interaction with someone he can relate to and trust and build that bond which serves as a base. Without that kind of interaction or closeness, world would really mean nothing but cold and lonely.

Because out of the many people in this big world, It's hard to find someone you can trust, love, and share with.

People are becomming more to themselves as the days go on...people are spending more time at home or just to themselves more these days. Not like the ole days with more social gatherings.

it's not hard to be alone and/or lonely in the middle of a crowd...i think most of all its detatchment from society that a lonely person feels

because most people run around with the look of stay away on there mugs, and people that already feel insecure pick up on the vibe and tend to isolate themselves more.

Maybe because those people feel disconnected, and have isolated themselves because of that. We are all connected on a fundamental level, and all it takes is to be there for others, and it comes back to us.

The loneliness is more poignant when surrounded by many. It is easier to be "alone," if you are by yourself. It's almost torture to be alone, in a sea of people.
