One of the most important things to do before putting in the pond is to research, for pricing and how to.
Just a mention for pumps research the different kinds...........magnetic drives are best no oil to leak into your pond. Rarely break down only need to change impeller. "PONDMASTER"

I'm in Oklahoma. How deep? How tall is the wall for the waterfall? As with any project, it takes time, labor, and material. There are plenty of do it yourself books on the subject as well as internet resources. Look in your area for a landscape architect and ask for references and qualified contactors. Another consideration is a pondless waterfall (google it!).

The scope of the project will look like this:
1. Locate public utilities
2. Install an electrical source adjacent to the pond location (to power the water pump). Get a licensed electrician for this.
3. Excavate the soil (i.e. dig a big hole)
4. Lay down the pond liner, install the pipe, place the recirculating pump
5. Put down the rock, build the wall for the waterfall.
6. Fill it full of water, fire it up
7. Install your plant material if desired

Expect to pay $3000-$5000
