The question of "why am I here" is the absence of being engaged in life. It means that we are involved in a moment reflection rather than a moment of participation.
We are a species that has the option to think about life and living, or participate in life and living. Whether this comes from some positive or negative event, the result is the same.

I've been this way since 16 yrs. old asking these types of life questions, and yes, it started after something tragic happened altho I'd have been the same only probably a little older than 16
I believe it's a universal calling/connection
Everyone can 'hear' it or be aware....some just don't listen
I'll never be the same inside that I used to be. I'm a completely different person and have grown from that pivetal change within that took place, but for the better

I think that, since childhood, most people tend to ask how and who made them. Once we get older we start asking the why. I don't think there needs to be a tragic event or anything like that, it's more like we just all wonder why on earth we're here. So I guess it could be a universal calling type deal.
For me, it was during my early teen years that I started asking those questions. That's kind of the stage where questions out-weigh answers anyways, and we're curious about everything, right?

From the age of about 5 to 9 I asked such things and speculated about much more. At 9 I died (drowned) and was brought back. Haven't asked such things since. All "questions" have been a case of either already knowing or that it didn't matter.
If you're alive, LIVE. If you're already dead, lay down and get it over with.

i have been asking these questions when i was around 6 or 7years old. no situation or something like that made me question. the main quest for me was what am i here for. maybe its just life, universe calling us.
