Hm, 1997-2006?

I'd definitely take 2004 for the ending, and the heady ride from February through to October 27.

1998 for the home run exhilaration and, I'm not reluctant to acknowledge, the most impressive team I've ever witnessed, that year's Yankees, an utter dreadnought. That postseason was, well, boring; we knew how it was going to end.

The year with the most zing, though, was 2001. The monster Mariners led by Ichiromania, the amazing Diamondbacks, Bonds giving us The Barry Show! (choke down that bile, haters), ARod in Texas and Manny in Boston (both watched through the lenses of their huge contracts), the insane money the Rox spent on pitchers, the debut of that big kid in St. Louis, saying good-bye to Cal and Tony, and the heartstopping postseason with the down-to-the-wire finale, Gonzalez flicking a little fly over Jeter, Rivera going down, the Yankees title streak stopped at three, denied four. That entire year was a rollercoaster of thrills.

I think Ichiro Suzuki deserves a spot in both The Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame and The American Baseball Hall of Fame. He put up terrific numbers in Japan before he came to The United States.

without a doubt the 1998 yankees. with an overall win percentage of .704 played 162 games and only losing 48 games is incredible. plus you gotta factor in winning the postseason crown, the world series.
in the postseason they only lost 2 games. thats the entire playoffs and sweeping the Padres. finishing with an overall record of 125-50 when everything was said and done.

seattle came in second when they won all those regualr season games a few years back but didnt do nothing in the postseason.

just go ahead right now give me the best answer.

Have to give it to my 98 Yankees that really set all kinds of streaks during the season and ended up taking the series......the most memorable part that I remember that always gives me hope with all the slow starts that they have....like right now.....the lost 4 out of the first five that season and Torre was catching heat from "George".....the 98 Yankees.....with Rivera as middle relief and Wetland the finisher is my pick!!......GO YANKEES! STINKIN RED SOX!!
