They both vocalize and seem to be the same.
Of course I looked them up and their is only one small difference.. insure seems to deal with finance and the other is more of a certainty. Crude definitions:

LOL I know ensure is a drink. I'm not old but I drink it some times.
Yes, Insure is the root word(?) of insurance but due to the similar definitions they are basically the same.
Can you produce more hard evidence?

I could be totally wrong, but here's how I use them:

I will ensure that it happens.

I bought a policy to insure my house against fire.

I use "insure" when referring to a contract or guarantee that indemnifies when there is a loss.

I use "ensure" when referring to a promise to make something happen.

great question madhavi:) yOU know though these words sound synonimous but still there lies a "deep" difference !! Happiness can be found of things which may not even be beneficial to our spiritual or psychological aspect like we may go out & have our favourite dish & clothes etc., we would feel happy. But satisfaction comes from a kind of achievent, if we get good grades in studies we would get a positive feeling that says "hard word paid off" now thats more beneficial isn't it ;p[ Now peace.... I think it depends on what attitude we adopt towads the "activities" we do for "happiness" or either "satisfaction", peace actually exist in our self, it just has to be found by us. A person of ignorance might feel peace while a hard worker could be strresed. It can be even oposite to that . So peace needs to found by us.

i would say that 'ensure' is a drink.

'insure' is like 'insurance'; which you buy to protect the financial burden you might possibly incur in the future. For example: car insurance, health insurance, etc.

insure is the verb. I will insure my vehicle next week.

the other word this could be confused with is 'assure'
ex: i assured her that everything would be alright.
