YES, is this not a free country? The war on drugs is the most damaging policy this government pursues, despite the fact that it is detrimental situation for everyone. Sure, smoking pot is probably not a wise health decision; however, either is drinking alcohol, smoking tobacco, drinking coffee, or taking over the counter medications more often than recommended. More harm is being done to individuals and society every day because of this hypocrisy than any other known immoral law. The DEA is the only winner, because they get to confiscate private property from citizens caught with marijuana, and auction this property off to make literally billions of dollars to be poured back into this madness. If it were legal so many serious problems that plague this society would disappear overnight. Wake up people. The Netherlands is a perfect role model. Since they legalized pot, the crime rate has dropped, and surprisingly to some, so has the use of pot. Our prisons are overcrowded with people that are not immoral or dangerous to society. It’s sickening. For every argument against the legalization of marijuana, there are ten better ones for its legalization. I would even go so far as to say that it is even much worse than the war in Iraq. I would have thought that by now our country would have matured enough to the point where the people would no longer stand for such nonsense. What will it take? I do not know, but I hope it happens soon.

Yes, I think it should be. And no, I don't use it. Marijuana users cause A LOT less problems for society than alcohol users (not including the selling/buying/importing issues of the illegal substance). I'm just talking about the end user.
Stoners don't fight with cops, beat there spouses and cause fatal crashes on a regular basis as drunks do. I know the above occurs with stoned ppl, but no where near the frequency as drunks.
And I don't think other drugs should be legalized.

Yes. I do not want the government to dictate what I take into my body. That choice is mine. An excess of sugar and fatty foods is far more harmful than marijuana, and I would not want the government to make sugar illegal, either.

Yes. But none of its little friends.
I think it is likely better for you than alcohol, and should be regulated and taxed.

i don't have a problem with it being legal. i don't happen to smoke it, but if you like it, i think you should be able to do it without looking over your shoulder.
