put in your windows cd and choose format, and after it does then you can install the system again

if your computer came with a recovery disk, use that. it will ask if you want to format or erase everything and restore your computer to the way it was when you bought it. Fresh clean operating system, enjoy

run system restore using the recovery partition or ur recovery cd.
that make the laptop to go in factory settings and defaults.

You should insert a CD that came with it, like a Windows XP CD or something like that and then boot from the CD and reinstall XP.

Keep pressing F8 when you turn it on, then select the last known good configuration.

my computer was freezing too so i used system restore and restored it to a earlier date.
