Supporting bush on the war on terror, is like supporting a doctor who prescribes ingesting a bottle of cyanide to cure a bee sting.
If we don't poke around the world so much, the pesky bees won't come out to sting us.

I don't think al Qaeda have enough power to overthrow entire Iraqi gov like some claim including the president. Al Qaeda is terror organizations scattered through out the world. They'll create some havoc, but won't take over entire country. And neighboring Saudi, Iran(Shiites), and others would not let that happen. If we leave al Qaeda will claim victory which they would whenever we leave. Whether it be 1 year or 20 years al Qaeda will say 'we won!' Al Qaeda itself don't have enough resources to take over entire country and rule it.

They might drive Al Qaeda out of Iraq, but that wouldn't do the rest of the world any good. And the Shiite extremists that are also fighting the democracy, might gain power and become a destabilizing threat in itself. Not all terrorists are Sunni like Al Qaeda.

Assuming your numbers are correct; while being a minority, they remain a powerful group capable of killing a lot of people. Since Iraq is so divided, the most powerful and influential group may embrace them in order to suppress others. Keep in I understand how you feel about Iraq, I support rooting out terrorist organizations, but I also have serious questions about the way things are being done over there. I would trust the view of a person with boots on the ground over there.

They were talking about that on the Daily Show last night. I think Al-Qaida would be like a mafia type or a KKK type of extremist group, deadly but not running any country . . . If we left, though, my fear would be if that country became ground zero for the millenia-long strife between Shia and Sunni, with hundreds of thousands dying in the name of Mohammad (sp?) Iran, Syria and others would get involved - Israeli existence and Turkish stability would be threatened, not to mention the interests of super powers such as China, Russia and ourselves. I'm afraid that going to war in Iraq may at some point create a far worse situation, a night-mare scenario. Far worse than any extremist group or ruthless murderer of a dictator (Hussein) could ever produce on their own. Let me just add, I hope I am completely and utterly wrong and naive!!!

All of the insurgents would band together. But enough American blood has been spilled in Iraq. Support the troops. Bring them home.

No, The weak government would fall. Remember, it only takes 1 to 2 % of the people to control a dictatorship.

Al Qaeda is funded by America to create Kaos, there would be less trouble in iraq if america did'nt cause the terror in the first place, they need to create terror in order to have an excuse to stay in iraq for the oil, money, and empire. remember the saying - problem, reaction, solution. or the saying order out of kaos. the real terrorists is the american government.
