first off for everyone saying he is too old to play tight end, the person asking this question is talking about if he had gone the football route in school and not basketball. not if he could play tight end now.

i don't think shaq could have been a good tight end. he seems to lack the speed and people that tall have too much room to hit. it would probably have been hard for him to block well being that tall. he also has had several basketball injuries and being that injury prone would have never made it in football. he might be a good red zone target for jump ball though. he would have been a situational guy perhaps.

no he is too big that he will have too many injuries. he's already missing a whole bunch of games in his own sport. I think Ben Wallace would make a much better tightend then Shaq.

Shaq cant even be a center anymore. Maybe ten years ago he'd of been a great tighend. Of course he would have cried to the refs when he was bumped inside of 5 yards. Go Kobe.

He's too old. But it seems he may have made a good TE if he had any speed at all. With blocking I'm not sure; he may be too tall and too easy for smaller guys (most other players) to run around.

I doubt it. He doesn't seem have to have great hands, not exceptional speed, and having not played the position I'm sure his blocking skills would be pitiful. That pretty much leaves his skill levels out of the possibility.

ive always had this thought........

if you put him back at 20 and had him play football......

he may have been the greatest Left Tackle in history........incredible size at over 7 ft and probably about 350 pounds (hes allowed to get that big in football)

great agility and athleticism......

just like Jonathan Ogden.........tall, long, big, strong, and a great athlete..........except in even bigger porportions

Absolutely not! He's not fast enough and flat out too tall. He'd get hit at the knees and buckle.

He is too big and not agile enough to be tight end, but he would probably make a good offensive lineman.
