On Pokemon Pearl/Diamond, is it possible to go to other regions?

No, you can only travel in the Shinoh region. You can travel to an island after you beat the elite 4 and get your national dex (well, to progress through the entire island). However, all three other regions are mentioned as well as a few familiar faces..
