The people who would be "in trouble" are physicists who really want there to be a "theory of everything". Right now, there is a general relativity theory and a quantum mechanics theory of how the universe works. Both correctly describe the universe in all instances where they've been tested. They appear to contradict each other in certain special cases that we haven't been able to check yet. String theory is the only known approach to theoretical physics that might be able to resolve these contradictions. If it's no good, we have no other idea for approaching the problem.

If the string theory was right we may be in trouble.
We live in a quantum universe,if strings vibrated they would be continually changing size and a quantum universe could not exist.
We are here because space-time is a unit of minimum size and duration with a quantum effect that allows the universe to evolve as it does.

11 dimensional string theory has not produced anything.

It is possible that the extra 7 dimensions of space, (that are not perceived), are mathematical deception, and therefore string theory is a theory of nothing, as you will find if you read the wikipedia article on string theory all the way to the end.

Holy Gehosophat !!!!

Someone else had trouble swallowing that theory. What a surprise. Do not feel like the Lone Ranger. I did also. After
reading that I threw away the book, and bought a new one.
The next one that I am going to spend any time at all reading had better make more sense than that, for sure.

Invest your money with Burger King. At least they have a good idea and know how to execute it.
