I mean, u have 2 shine in the playoffs if u want 2 be known as a legend, but if u win 20 games in the reg. season, how r u gonna get that chance. I hate it when people say that because if the regular season really didn't count, then why don't we just start the playoffs in october, with every team in it, because it won't matter if u win 19 games, or 69.

Playoffs r where stars r born, but come on, the regular season has 2 count. Agree, or disagree?

The regular season counts: higher seeded-teams have an easeir road to the NBA Finals because they play lower- seeded teams, and the higher-seeded teams enjoy home-court advantage.

You're right: good players become stars (Baron Davis) and stars become legends because of their playoff excellence. On the other hand, stars can become posers if they play well during the regular season but fizzle out in the playoffs (Dirk Nowitzki).

Perfect example the Dallas Mavericks, the best record in the NBA, franchise record wins, and they lose in the first round to the 8th seed. It's a fool who loses tomorrow looking at yesterday.

ummm...don't be deceived by that series...the Warriors have Dallas' number...

Warriors won all 3 games in the reg series..remember that Don Nelson was the coach for Dallas a while back..so that series wan't fair for Avery Johnson...THAT SAID...

The reg season HAS to be important..the seeding is huge as well as the home court advantage..ALSO..the way you enter into the playoffs is decided greatly within the reg season and the Warriors won the last 9 of 15 games to "back in" to the playoffs by getting the last spot..by I argue that the team that really BACKED IN was the Lakers..not the Warriors..because 9 for 15 isn't bad..they wanted it and they got it..whereas the Clippers did NOT get into the playoffs..if they beat out the Warriors..then the Mavs would probably be playing the jazz right now..because the Clips were NOT playing great in the reg season so they are watching the playoffs from the couch like I am..

As a Dodger fan you must recognize that the 1977 ball membership had two in their infielders hitting 30 or extra house runs --- Cey hit 30 and Garvey hit 33 for a complete of sixty three. Add that to Lopes' eleven and Russell's four and that is seventy eight. It's possible that eighty-ninety house runs by means of an infield is a nontoxic wager. The Yankees this beyond season with A-Rod, Jeter, Cano, and 3 distinct first baseman tallied 108 HR's. If you depend Posada's 20 now you are at 128. So eighty-ninety isn't asking an excessive amount of out of an infield.

Disagree. Regular season does not matter, because as long as you finish somewhere along .500 you are gonna make the playoffs. Now people say that if you got the 8th seed you would have to play the 1 seed, but if you are gonna go through the playoffs, you are gonna have to play that team eventually anyway so.

the regular season counts only in the sense of winning enough games to get you into the post season. After that, then that is when the real season begins.

agree.
Regular season prepares the players for the playoffs, preps them, and tunes them basically.
Then when play offs come around they are totally prepared and ready to go.
