I am not racist but?

Question

You know how African American people can have Black History Month why do we white people not have White History Month, White Pride Day, and things like that? We should be just as honored as any other race. But we are ''claimed'' to be racist if we dare try anything like that

And no one will ever change that!

Maybe I did get this off of another post but I want to see a variety of people's answers. Now for everyone who has answered so for they are either being rude or just not giving an answer because they don't know one. Call me what you like but don't we deserve a day to celebrate our race just as much as any other race?

And for your information there are MANY people to celebrate in a White History Month. Alexander Graham Belle, George Washington, Thomas Edison, Honest Abe, Einstein, Benjamin Franklin, George Pattin, need anymore cause I have got a whole list.

i totally agree with you! The black ppl are free becuz of other blacks AND whites. MANY whites faught for the blacks' freedom... so what the hell!?

But whatever... if they dislike this so much... why don't they just move back to africa??

okay, i have often thought about this and have come to the conclusion that while i think it would be fair to have a white history month there are still WAY too many neonazis and clan members out there that would use that as an excuse to flaunt bigotry and hatred.
so after coming to that conclusion i am now pondering a much better question: why can't we have a racial unity month, or a human race month? there is way too much emphasis put on differences, and way too little put on the things we have in common.

Alexander was from Scotland which would make him Irish.
Einstein was Jewish. and you have TWO presidents there... they get their own holiday... presidents day.

but yes there are many white people who have made numerous contributions to society.
and maybe there should be a white history month.. but i wouldnt count on seeing one anytime soon.

and to Secret (an answerer bellow me) if YOU dont like how things are here in America.. why dont YOU move back to Europe?
none of us are native to this land, except native americans.. so if any of us dont like it we should ALL move back to where we came from.. according to you right?

Black people went through a lot more than white people. Slavery. White people OWNED black people. African Americans have strugggled to obtain the rights they deserve while white people had nothing to worry about. African Americans honeslty deserve a month to honor their race, they've worked hard to get the respect they deserve. Skin color doesn't make a difference anyway, your white be happy it's not special!

Well, the way I precieve it, Black history month and so on is just a form of affirmative action- that's what I think it's all about, and why we don't have a White History month.

I think it's rather ironic that black history month is held during the shortest month of the year. Black history month has become nothing other than an attempt to convince us that the world would be uninhabitable were it not graced by the superior intellect of the *******. I couldn't agree more! I have asked this question myself. If we were to have an all white college or an organization that only whites to join (NAACP for example) that would be protested about and the good ol' Rev Jackson would be raising hell!! These days you have to be careful of what you say around who in fear of offending someone. I have many black friends, but feel that we have created a double standard, allowing it to be OK to be proud of one heritage but not another.

does it really matter if white black red pink or orange with green spots................long as u treat others with respect n tolerance, humour & knidness. Am sick of colour being used as a standard, or an excuse, or as the reason., or as an obligation...............why the ordinary can we not just get along, what is past is past, the future is more important.
