It's never too late to go back to college. I was 48 when I started my degree course. I was a second-hand bookseller and became an IT support person and then an IT Trainer.

I was out of school for a number of years before I went back in my twenties. I was terrified that I wouldn't know what I was doing, or that I would have forgotten everything I had learned before. I went back to a regular high school, in regular classes with everyone younger than I was. I was so nervous that first day back, I can't even describe it.
But here's the good news: after a couple of days, it all came back to me and I had no trouble keeping up with the kiddies. Everything went incredbly well, and I graduated two years later with honors. I then went on to honors courses in University. It can definitely be done, and I swear to you it is not as scary as it seems to you right now.
A couple of tips. If you're planning on taking math as part of your new high school experience, I suggest refreshing yourself on the basics before going in. I did and was very glad of it. Math is one area where you really need to remember everything that came before, so head to your library and check out a couple of textbooks. I'm sure you could even find some online. Also, if none of the students realize you're 26 there's no reason to tell them. You'll feel less awkward and self-conscious that way.
I am living proof that this can be done, and with very little stress involved. If you want to improve your circumstances and aim for a better career then more power to you. I say go for it! It's never too late to make yourself a better person. Good luck.

The beauty of knowledge is that it keeps on giving . You are smart enough to realize that you need a good education to advance in life , never lose sight of that . Going back to a class that you left many years ago may not be where you want to go , try going after a course or several courses that interest you now , and what will be good for your career . Good Luck !

First of all, 26 years old is NOT old. You are very young still. Secondly, even if you were 96 years old, it is NEVER too late to go back to school and/or pick a new career. Good for you that you've made this choice. Now stick with it!

First and foremost, major kudos to you for wanting to go back!
It's never too late.
In every college graduation I've been too, they almost always announce the oldest person receiving a bachelors degree to be anywhere from 70-90 yeasr old.
26 is not old, even if you haven't been in school for 10 years.
It won't be easy, but if you are determined and put your all into it, you will be fine.
Congrats on your decision to move forward!

You are never too old to learn something new! I commend you for even considering going back to school! Education is the key to a better future, both financially and personally! Definitely go back and continue to educate yourself. Everyone should try to learn at least one new thing each day. It may seem a bit strange at first when you go back to school, but you will soon fall into a routine. Just don't get discouraged. Keep at it and you will definitely be rewarded!

I know people who go back to school in their 40's, 50's and 60's. Why is it people in their 20's always think they are "too old" to do something. You have a lot of years ahead of you. Make them good ones. Some advice my Dad gave me once. "In 10 years, you're still going to be 36. It's what you do between those ten years that counts." Go back to school.

You are very brave to consider getting an education at your age. Not many people want to because they feel they are too old. You should get it. I know your not too old. You are practically a baby still. Just think, 10 years you will be 36. Think of having a great job at 36. Still young, yea?
